Compensation consists of expenses in the form of monetary amounts as well as quantities in the corresponding units. For example, KM compensation can be recorded in KM. All compensation entries have a minimum and a maximum value.
If the minimum and maximum values are the same (for example, min. 16 CHF and max. 16 CHF), this is a flat rate.
Recording Compensation Using the Time Clock #
The time clock is a simple way to track compensation. This is currently especially useful for users of the ems Time app who track their hours and compensation while on the go.
The time clock can only be used to record compensation; it can no longer be edited or deleted.

Under item (1), select the desired type of reimbursement. Under item (2), enter the desired amount. Depending on the settings, this may also be set automatically (if the expense is saved with a fixed value in the settings). Also note the appropriate unit (for example, STK or MK) in which the data must be entered.
Clicking“Save”will permanently save the data. Please be careful not to accidentally enter the same data more than once. You can check this in the “Timesheet” tab.
The compensation amounts already recorded on this day are displayed as aggregate values for clarity (3).
Recording Compensation Through Manual Entry #

Click the three-dot menu in the timesheet → Compensation to enter a manual entry.
Depending on the settings, you may only be able to record data using the time clock (if the “clock in” recording type is active). In this case, the three-dot menu will not be visible.

First, select the desired type of reimbursement under item (1). Under item (2), enter the date and, optionally, the time. Under item (3), enter the desired quantity. Depending on the settings, this may also be set automatically (if the expense is saved with a fixed value in the settings). Also note the appropriate unit (for example, pieces or kilometers) in which the data must be entered.
In addition, you can add internal and external comments regarding the compensation. Under item (5), you also have the option to attach a receipt or document to the compensation entry.
Compensation amounts can include both a minimum and a maximum value. You must adhere to these limits; otherwise, you will receive an error message.
Processing Compensation Claims #

As long as the data has not been released, you can select and edit it in the list.
Data can no longer be processed under the following circumstances:
- You do not have permissions for this type of compensation.
- You (the employee) have already approved the data.
- The data has already been released by a project manager (control visa).
- The data has already been released by a supervisor (final visa).
